We will arrange a convenient early morning pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle to drive the 230 kilometer route to Luxor. During the journey you will cross the fascinating desert landscape with its natural volcanic mountains before reaching the Nile Valley. Here you will get authentic insights into the typical everyday life in the rural villages of the Nile Valley.
On your first day in Luxor you will visit the impressive memorial temple complex built by Ramses III. was built and is considered the last peak of the heyday of the great pharaohs. You also have the opportunity to visit two of the well-preserved noble tombs and admire the colors that have survived over millennia. In Thebes-West you can also try the delicious Egyptian specialties. You then take a half-hour boat trip on the Nile and enjoy the beautiful landscape. After checking in at the hotel, you will spend the first night in Luxor. In the evening, you will be taken by horse-drawn carriage from the hotel to the Luxor Temple complex, where you can experience the beauty of the illuminated temple in the evening. On day two, delve deep into ancient Egyptian history as you explore Karnak Temple. The columns and walls of this impressive temple complex tell many pages of ancient Egyptian history (you have a full 3 hours in the temple complex). After lunch in East Luxor, visit the Temple of Osiris, built by Seti I and laying down the fundamental principles of art and architecture. You spend the night in a hotel in Abydos (now Sohag).
On the third day you drive to Dendera, where you visit the temple of the goddess of beauty and magic. This temple served as an astronomical study center in ancient times. The Zodiac on the second floor of the temple is better preserved than the Zodiac displayed at the Louvre Museum in Paris and symbolizes the belief that it represents the connection between heaven and earth. After this fascinating journey through Luxor, Dendera and Abydos, make your way back to Hurghada.
